FAQs
Power Vinyasa is an invigorating and dynamic form of yoga where students flow from pose to pose while connecting breath to movement. After a few classes, you'll begin to notice familiarity in the sequences, with variations incorporated, and we encourage you to modify and adjust as needed. We heat our classes to around 90-95 degrees to facilitate sweat and help the body move, resulting in a revitalizing practice that builds mental and physical strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. All classes end with savasana - a few minutes of stillness and rest - leaving you feeling empowered and ready to step into the rest of your day.
We heat the room using radiant heating panels to around 90 degrees for our power vinyasa classes, slightly lower for roots, sculpt and stretch . Radiant heat heats surfaces (bodies) vs the air, so it provides a more comfortable sensation than just being in a hot room - similar to the sensation of the sun warming your body. The heat helps warm your muscles to stretch and relax into the poses. The challenge of practicing physical poses in a heated room creates an environment for transformation. We use heat (tapas) to develop a sense of focus, a connection to breath, and present moment awareness. When life turns up the heat, our practice on our mat teaches us to focus, stay calm, and stray strong off the mat as well. And the best reward after a hot and sweaty practice? Cold towels during savasana!
We welcome you to join any class at the studio for your first class - as we offer modifications throughout class to adjust to your needs. Students have found our Roots class to be a nice introduction to both moving through a vinyasa sequence and practicing in the heat. Whatever your level of experience, pace yourself and practice at your own level, resting when needed. Come as you are, not as you think you should be!

Come prepared to sweat - in comfortable, sweat wicking clothing that allows your body to move. You should bring a mat and a towel - we also have rentals available - mats ($2), mat towels ($2), and hand towels ($1). Please come prepared with water - and be sure to hydrate before, during, and after class, by drinking water with electrolytes.
